Success

This morning the kids and I embarked on our first official play date! We were meeting Erin and the 2 kids she nannys for at the mall play place. The older is almost 3 and the younger one is only 9 days younger than Morgan. I was really excited for Morgan and C to meet and play, but he spiked a fever over night so he stayed home with mom and just the older one came. Morgan still had a great time playing. We went early enough so it wasn't too crazy yet and it was fun to see how Morgan interacted in a different area with kids she didn't know. I already told Adam that we are going to have to take her there on the weekend or something. While all this was going on ... Caden peacefully slept in his carseat.

Along with this being our first official play date it was also the first time I took both kids out all by myself. Believe me it was quite interesting, but I survived and it was successful. Actually I get to do it all over again this afternoon when Morgan has a doctor's appointment if Adam isn't home in time :) It was kind of funny because this morning before the kids were awake, I texted Adam asking him if he had any suggestion on how to tote 2 kids into the mall all by myself because we do not have a double stroller or anything and it's not like I am some super muscular woman either. So, this is what I did ... I brough our regular stroller and put Caden in that and then Morgan rode up on the top by the handle ... it was hilarious, but Morgan loved it. It probably wasn't the safest, but it's not like I left her alone sitting up there. I got a few funny looks, but among the funny looks were lots of smiles and comments on how cute she was and how beautiful my children were.

Overall ... the first play date and first outting was a success! Yep I rock!

On another note ... I had my orientation for daycare license last night and that went well. There was a lot of information thrown at me and a lot of things I have to do and a lot of organizing that needs to happen, but I am very excited for this new adventure. I just can't wait for everything to get up and going and kids to start enrolling! I still have to have the licensor come visit and then we have to do what she says for changes or additions and things like that and then she will come again to re-inspect and the fire marshall has to come. After that I think it's just all the paperwork and what not and then I will be licensed. We also need to get going on the food program so that when I do get my license I can just call them and tell them it's official and everything will be done on that end!

A few other things ...

Caden's baptism is January 24th ...

I return to work part time February 1st ...

Until next time ...

Stay-At-Home Mom

I know it has been 3 months since I last posted .... all I can say is I'm a busy woman and I just don't take the time like I should to sit down and keep up with this blog. Hopefully I will get better as I will be home more ...

Today was my first official day of being on my own with both Caden and Morgan.

Side Note: for those of you that don't know ... Caden was born on December 15th!!!! We are now a family of 4!

Anyways ... the first 2 weeks Adam was home with me and last week my sister was here, so I had wonderful help. Today I was on my own. No asking Adam to run and get something for me or having him change one of the stinky diapers or having him take care of a crabby toddler while I feed the baby! It was all up to me. Well, I survived and pretty darn well I might add. I actually accomplished quite a bit. I got the dishes and laundry done ... vacuumed and cleaned Morgan's room (all the Christmas shit kept getting put in there). Made breakfast, lunch, and supper and of course took care of the kiddos and kept Morgan entertained.

I really enjoy being at home with them and it is something that will actually be continuing. After my only 6 week maternity leave, I will return to New Horizon Academy part time. I am going to stay home with Morgan and Caden during the day and then go work at NHA for a few hours in the afternoon once Adam is home. Along with that I am also in the process of getting my daycare license so I can do daycare out of our home. My plan is to start small with only a couple of kids and down the road we want to finish the basement and if things are going well with daycare at that point, then we will expand and move everything downstairs so that daycare can be separate from home. I am very excited about this adventure we are embarking on.

I guess I don't know too much else. Both of our families came to us for Christmas this year since Caden had just been born. My family was here for a few days and Adam's family just came for the day. New Years we played low key and just hung out at home. The next big thing is Caden's baptism which will be happening here in January ... the date has not been made official yet.

Until next time...

I just don't get it...

Today I found out a dear friend of my lost her baby. She was 7 weeks along. I am absolutely crushed and can't even begin to imagine what her and her husband are going through. This just hurts me even more as I have a beautiful daughter and a son on the way. This was basically their miracle baby and now it has been taken away from them. I just do not understand things like this. Why does God give someone a miracle baby and then take it away from them? It's just not fair. I know of others who have lost babies, but this one just hits a harder. I think for one because I am pregnant already and two I know how much this couple deserves this baby. It just frustrates me so much that those people that SHOULD NOT have children can have as many as they want and the people that SHOULD have children can't. GRRR!

I just needed to get this off my chest!

I love you guys and we are praying for you!

My Wish List

As baby #2's arrival is quickly approaching I am constantly thinking about things I should be doing/getting/want to have (doesn't mean I'll get). I have a decent amount of clothes, but should get a few more newborn/0-3 month stuff. I should find some more "boyish" blankets as well, but that isn't a necessity. I have bedding for his crib, but I'm not happy with it because we just got it as an "extra" when we bought the crib from a friend, so I would like to find something else. I want to somehow coordinate his bedding with Morgan's since they'll be sharing for awhile. He will be in our room though until he's sleeping through the night. One thing that we will need to find/get at least by next spring (now I'm thinking tax return money) will be a double stroller. This is such a difficult decision...I want something good, but don't want to break the bank at the same time. Any suggestions? A couple things on my wish list, meaning exactly that ... a wish! I would love a new papasan chair because the one we have sucks and it's pink. I also would LOVE a new swing. I know which one I want too! Our swing works fine, but it's a garage sale find and it really has no bells and whistles and runs on batteries. The one I want is electric.

Now that I write it all down, it sure looks like a lot more. Guess we'll see what happens. Don't know if my parents or Adam's parents plan on getting anything for this baby like they did Morgan, but at least I know what I can tell them haha! Although my mom is a great garage sale shopper when it comes to clothing. She has given quite a bit of clothing for the little guy already that she got on a garage sale and it's awesome! Way to go mom!

I suppose though, I really should go get a few more things done yet tonight instead of wasting my time searching for my wish list on the computer.

On the agenda for this weekend: possibly take Morgan to the pumpkin patch in Byron, dinner with Emily and Darin on Saturday, and possibly paint and(?) decorate the kids room! I am welcome to any suggestions here as well especially those of you that may have kids sharing a room that were different genders!

not so productive here

Today was definitely a lazy Sunday in every sense of the word. We didn't do a thing, really. Morgan had another rough night of sleep and discovered tonight why ... she is working on getting her 2nd top molar in. This makes 10 teeth now! Man she is growing fast! Anyways, we finally got going about 9ish with pancakes and bacon for breakfast. Showered and got somewhat read, which consisted of getting dressed. We were sportin' the Vikings attire today. We relaxed around until the game, which was awesome! I fell asleep for part of the 2nd and 3rd quarters, but didn't miss the awesome finish! After the game, we played around with Morgan and just watched tv and relaxed. I did balance the checkbook early this evening and Adam ran to the store to get a few things, but other than that nothing too exciting. Really not looking forward to another week of work, but what do you do. I think I'm getting more and more into the mood of thinking about baby #2 and how much I just want to be home with them. Not good. Not sure what this mama is going to do, but I know God will provide!

Good night all!

Bad Blogger

That's right, I am a horrible blogger. Life has just gotten away from me the last couple of months. I really don't even know how to go back and recap everything, so I don't think I'll go into too many details ... I'll just give the highlights!

We closed on our house early August (was supposed to be end of July) but it all worked out. Everything is starting to slowly come together. We are now in the process of growing a lawn...it's coming along.

Morgan turned a year! I would really like to know where the year went! She is walking now and getting into everything. I can say she is quite the little shit sometimes, but I absolutely love it and usually even though she is being a shit, I just laugh at her! She has the greatest personality and I hope it continues the same and that her baby brother is just the same!

I am in my third trimester now and things are going good. 29 weeks today ... this pregnancy is going by sooo fast it's unreal. So far everything has checked out good at the doctor and what not. I passed my 2nd glucose test which was good. My next appointment is October 7th. Due date is still on track for December 9, 2009!

I guess those are the main updates...I'll try to be better here in the future, but I can't make any guarantees!

The verdict is in ...

Well we had our ultrasound today and we saw the penis! We are going to have a baby boy due on December 9th!

Happy Day!
