Busy Mama

I can't believe the last time I posted was when I was headed back to work and that was over 3 months ago. Being a mother of two kids under the age of 2 keeps this lady pretty busy, plus preparing to open my own business has got me pretty swamped. Any spare time I have, I want to talk to my husband, relax, or sleep. There are so many things on the "to do" list and it just keeps growing. Slowly we are getting things done.

Not a lot, yet a lot has happened in the last few months. April 13th, I officially became a licensed daycare provider and now almost a month later I still have no kiddos. I have been so busy with everything that I haven't even gotten ads in the paper and flyers around town! Must do that this week haha!

My family has visited us a couple times now and we headed back home for prom in Osakis ( I did pictures again ). It was a nice time back home. My family was actually here just this past week ... that shall be a separate blog WITH PICTURES :) They came so my dad could help Adam put up our swing set. Next on the agenda is our fence! I can't wait for that to be done!

On March 24th, our good friends Darin and Emily welcome Aubrey Rose Wilking into the world! She is a doll and we are so happy for them! I am excited to watch her and Caden grow beings they are only about 4 months apart. It's a lot now that they are babies, but as they grow it should be a blast!

Morgan is into full fledged toddler mode! Some days the girl makes me want to pull my hair out and the next minute she's got me smiling or laughing. She is quite the character and everyday is a new adventure with her!

Caden is growing, growing, growing ... there is no other word for this little boy! My nickname for him is Mr. Chubbers :) At his 4 month appointment he was 17lbs 1oz ... I am guessing he is over 18lbs for sure by now. He is slowly getting the hang of eating cereal. We have also been feeding him prunes because he's got some issues poopin'. The little turd still isn't sleeping through the night, but at least when he gets up, he eats and goes right back to bed! Someday he will sleep through the night... I hope!

I guess I don't know much else. I'll try to get some pictures up from this weekend on here. Otherwise I need to update our shutterfly site, so you can always check there for pictures!

It's back to work I go ...

February 1st I return to work at NH! I am actually pretty darn excited about going back to work. I think because I'm only going back part time and get to continue to stay home with my babies and I have an awesome job (see previous post). I have wonderful friends at work and I am looking forward to seeing them again and having our day to day conversations and laughs. I'm a little bummed that one of my bestest buds at work is who I am going in to work for, but what do you do. I still have C and R that are awesome and I will get to see them everyday.

I am looking forward to tomorrow night. My boss is getting married and Adam and I are going to the reception and dance. I am going to get my drink on for the first time in a long time with great friends and my hubby. It will be very good for Adam and I to get out just us.

Caden's baptism went well by the way. It was a wonderful day, but I'm glad it's over.

Love where I work ..

This morning Morgan, Caden, and I went to visit the ladies at New Horizon. I hadn't been there to visit by myself yet, so the visit was long overdue and much needed! I basically just hung out in the baby rooms with the ladies I work side by side with. I hung out in J's office for a bit too and we chatted and what not. Saw a couple parents, but that was it. It's crazy how I have only been gone for 5 weeks and there are like half a dozen new kids and some have left and the ones that are still there have changed quite a bit. Which makes me think about when I go back here in a week and a half I will be learning these kids schedules and quirks all over again, but that's okay. I am actually very excited and ready to go back to work. I love the ladies that I work with and I love my boss! I have been truly blessed with this job. I have gained wonderful friendships and had a lot of great laughs. I know that when I do get my own daycare up and running I am really going to miss working there :( If daycare wasn't so darn expensive and I made a little more money I would be going back to work, but that's obviously not happening. All in all it was a wonderful visit and I plan on going one day next week too! I guess that's all for now ...

Morgan is growing ...

Yesterday afternoon we had Morgan's 15 month appointment ... she was actually 16.5 months, but either way it's what it was called. I was very interested in finding out how tall she had gotten and how much she weighed because the last time was in October. She was 32 1/2 inches long and 23 lbs. I don't have the paper in front of me, but I think height was like 80 some percentile and her weight was 45th percentile. The doctor called her tall and skinny.... that made me scratch my head because I look at her and think of her as our little chunk :) I think it's because she has such a round face and she has total Lueth legs just like her mommy haha! She also was scheduled for 2 regular shots and then they also did the h1n1 and flu booster for her, so she got 4 shots!! The nurse had said they were going to "double-team" it like that had done with her other shots, so one nurse does one side and the other does the other side so it's a lot quicker for the kid...well apparently she was in a hurry and didn't want to wait (we were the last appointment for the day) so she did it by herself. It was the worst shot experience for Morgan yet ... she squirmed and screamed sooo bad it broke my heart. The nurse just jabbed the shots in... I wasn't too happy :( She bled pretty bad too, which I can't imagine why. I had really liked this nurse up until she gave my baby shots. Morgan survived though because she is a little trooper. We probably should have but did not need to give her any tylenol or motrin and she made it through the night fine and seems to be doing okay today. Gotta love her :)

Success

This morning the kids and I embarked on our first official play date! We were meeting Erin and the 2 kids she nannys for at the mall play place. The older is almost 3 and the younger one is only 9 days younger than Morgan. I was really excited for Morgan and C to meet and play, but he spiked a fever over night so he stayed home with mom and just the older one came. Morgan still had a great time playing. We went early enough so it wasn't too crazy yet and it was fun to see how Morgan interacted in a different area with kids she didn't know. I already told Adam that we are going to have to take her there on the weekend or something. While all this was going on ... Caden peacefully slept in his carseat.

Along with this being our first official play date it was also the first time I took both kids out all by myself. Believe me it was quite interesting, but I survived and it was successful. Actually I get to do it all over again this afternoon when Morgan has a doctor's appointment if Adam isn't home in time :) It was kind of funny because this morning before the kids were awake, I texted Adam asking him if he had any suggestion on how to tote 2 kids into the mall all by myself because we do not have a double stroller or anything and it's not like I am some super muscular woman either. So, this is what I did ... I brough our regular stroller and put Caden in that and then Morgan rode up on the top by the handle ... it was hilarious, but Morgan loved it. It probably wasn't the safest, but it's not like I left her alone sitting up there. I got a few funny looks, but among the funny looks were lots of smiles and comments on how cute she was and how beautiful my children were.

Overall ... the first play date and first outting was a success! Yep I rock!

On another note ... I had my orientation for daycare license last night and that went well. There was a lot of information thrown at me and a lot of things I have to do and a lot of organizing that needs to happen, but I am very excited for this new adventure. I just can't wait for everything to get up and going and kids to start enrolling! I still have to have the licensor come visit and then we have to do what she says for changes or additions and things like that and then she will come again to re-inspect and the fire marshall has to come. After that I think it's just all the paperwork and what not and then I will be licensed. We also need to get going on the food program so that when I do get my license I can just call them and tell them it's official and everything will be done on that end!

Stay-At-Home Mom

I know it has been 3 months since I last posted .... all I can say is I'm a busy woman and I just don't take the time like I should to sit down and keep up with this blog. Hopefully I will get better as I will be home more ...

Today was my first official day of being on my own with both Caden and Morgan.

Side Note: for those of you that don't know ... Caden was born on December 15th!!!! We are now a family of 4!

Anyways ... the first 2 weeks Adam was home with me and last week my sister was here, so I had wonderful help. Today I was on my own. No asking Adam to run and get something for me or having him change one of the stinky diapers or having him take care of a crabby toddler while I feed the baby! It was all up to me. Well, I survived and pretty darn well I might add. I actually accomplished quite a bit. I got the dishes and laundry done ... vacuumed and cleaned Morgan's room (all the Christmas shit kept getting put in there). Made breakfast, lunch, and supper and of course took care of the kiddos and kept Morgan entertained.

I really enjoy being at home with them and it is something that will actually be continuing. After my only 6 week maternity leave, I will return to New Horizon Academy part time. I am going to stay home with Morgan and Caden during the day and then go work at NHA for a few hours in the afternoon once Adam is home. Along with that I am also in the process of getting my daycare license so I can do daycare out of our home. My plan is to start small with only a couple of kids and down the road we want to finish the basement and if things are going well with daycare at that point, then we will expand and move everything downstairs so that daycare can be separate from home. I am very excited about this adventure we are embarking on.

I guess I don't know too much else. Both of our families came to us for Christmas this year since Caden had just been born. My family was here for a few days and Adam's family just came for the day. New Years we played low key and just hung out at home. The next big thing is Caden's baptism which will be happening here in January ... the date has not been made official yet.
